A ribbon cutting ceremony and open houses are planned for the new expanded Bradford Family YMCA Early Learning and Child Care Center.
The childcare facility, located at 55 Boylston St. in Bradford, will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday. The community is invited to an open house on Friday, at either 10 a.m. or 3 p.m. to see the newly renovated space, learn about the Early Learning Center program, and meet the staff.
The facility added 3700 square feet, doubling the size of the existing center. This includes three spacious classrooms, separate early infant and older infant rooms, nursery and older preschool rooms, restrooms, office space and a fully equipped kitchen. The addition of the kitchen will allow staff to provide a hot lunch, in addition to the breakfast and snacks already offered.
The expansion allows for the care of an additional 50 children, allowing for a total of 100 children.
“We are passionate about children and families in the Bradford area, and are committed to serving our community,” said Stacie Titus, Bradford YMCA executive director. “This expansion is the culmination of a lot of dreaming and hard work from our donors, the school district and so many others. We cannot thank them enough.”
The Bradford Family YMCA aims to provide affordable, dependable, high-quality childcare services to working families of the greater Bradford area. The YMCA Early Learning Center provides a safe and educational environment for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age.
The Early Learning Center is licensed by the Department of Human Services and is a Keystone STARS 4 facility. Keystone STARS is a rating system that offers families a way to evaluate the quality of child care programs. It informs parents their children are in a safe, respectful environment in which they learn new things daily to support their current and future successes in school and life. A 4-star rating is the highest rating available by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
