Mattresses Across McKean County has released an application for its first mattress distribution.
Program requirements include the following: 1) Must live in McKean County, 2) Must be able to be reached via phone or email to schedule delivery, 3) Must be home for delivery, and 4) Must complete an application or have a referral.
Adults and children meeting these requirements are eligible.
The Mattresses Across McKean County Board will be accepting applications until April 15. Only twin and toddler mattress will be available through this program and requests will be fulfilled on a first come, first served basis, based on MAMC funding.
The MAMC Board reserves the right to approve or reject applications — applicants are not guaranteed a mattress. The first distribution will take place in May 2020. If the board is not able to fulfill all approved requests, applicants will be notified and placed on a list for the Fall 2020 distribution.
Since June 2019, the MAMC group has expanded to 13 board members.
Members include the following: Tonia Hartzell – President, Michele McCann – Vice President, Amy O’Neil – Treasurer, Donnie Hayden – Vice Treasurer, Jean Barnard – Secretary, Mindi Brown, Barb Close, Tanya Gayley, Kristin Hawver, Carolee Learn, Jim Line, Ronda Skoken, and Dan Wertz.
“We know there is a need in McKean County, but we have no idea how many applications we will receive,” said Hartzell, speaking on behalf of the group. “With the support we have received from our community in eight short months, our goal is to be able to fulfill as many requests as our funds allow.”
Applications can be found on the group’s Facebook page at McKean County Mattresses or requested by emailing acrossmckean@gmail.com.
