SMETHPORT — A Shinglehouse man convicted of sexually assaulting a small child will serve time in state prison.
Eric M. Fuller, 42, received a prison sentence of six to 15 years for the allegations. He was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court before Judge Christopher Hauser. Fuller has credit for 73 days of time served.
On Nov. 4, a jury found Fuller guilty of charges of statutory sexual assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, first-degree felonies; sexual assault, a second-degree felony; indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and endangering the welfare of children, third-degree felonies; and corruption of minors, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Fuller must register as a sex offender for his lifetime. He is to have no contact, direct or indirect, with the victim.
Prior to sentencing, Hauser asked Fuller if he wanted to address the court, and Fuller simply said, “No, sir.”
The defense attorney indicated that Fuller intends to file an appeal in the case. Hauser denied a motion to let Fuller out on bail pending the appeal.
The charges stem from actions by Fuller that took place in 2018 in Smethport Borough, according to court records.
