BAHS Alumni Association
The Bradford Area High School Alumni Association held its January meeting at the Model T Inn with 22 members attending.
A final review of 2019 activities was held along with a discussion of 2020 plans. The report showed that both membership rolls and donation levels had continued to increase during the year with new 2019 members being added from 17 different classes. All activities held during 2019 were well attended including monthly meetings, the December holiday lunch, the spring scholarship lunch, the fall banquet and the flea market/vendor sale.
It was reported that the membership renewal campaign was proceeding smoothly during the first month and the BAHS guidance department had informed the association that seniors would start picking up scholarship applications on March 1 with a return deadline set for May 1. The group decided to finalize plans at the February meeting for reviewing applications so that selections could be made in early May. Presentations are scheduled for the awards assembly on June 2.
A letter which had been received from the class of 1962, along with a donation of their final treasury balance, was read and the members agreed to name one of the 2020 awards in honor of ’62. Following a tradition of classes giving to students, along with individual alumni, 1962 becomes the 10th to be so honored during the past five years.
The next meeting will be held on Feb. 27.
