DUBOIS — DuBois-based state police are looking for information after someone broke into Bucktail Council’s Camp Mountain Run in Penfield and took several firearms and a bow.
Cameron and Elk counties are among those served by the Bucktail Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
According to police, sometime between Jan. 18 and this past Saturday, someone entered a locked side door of a gun storage room at the Scout camp, located at 4879 Mountain Run Road, Huston Township, Clearfield County, removed the weapons and tried to pry open a metal pistol box.
The missing items included four Savage Mark II .22-caliber rifles, a Remington Arms 870 20-gauge shotgun, a Remington Arms 870 Jr. 20-gauge shotgun and a Genesis original compound bow, police said. The items are valued at a total of $2,425.
A door handle and the lock box that were damaged were valued at an additional $60, according to police.
