Seven members of Take Off Pounds Sensibly PA #1704 weighed in Monday night losing 4.2 pounds.
Silvana was the Best Loser in Waiting as well as the Officer of the Week. For the month of January, the group lost a total of 15.2 pounds. Two members were recognized for their weight loss for the month: Doug was King and Denise was Queen. Lonnie was presented with a chapter merit certificate for her 16.2-pound weight loss in 2019. And Harold got his pick of prizes for succeeding in Silvana’s journaling challenge to him.
New contests were discussed and voted on, with the kite contest coming in on top. During week five of the nine-week contest, members are to exercise for 20 minutes three times. The item to avoid this week is coffee creamers, and members are to try to get more sleep.
Current Events Club
The Current Events Club heard a presentation from Lacey Love, director of the Bradford Area Public Library, at the meeting Monday at the First Presbyterian Church.
Love discussed the library’s offerings, and each Current Events member was presented a February calendar of events and programs.
Susan Egbert served as greeter for the 19 members in attendance. Tea Committee Chair Marie Weaver was assisted by Nancy Bess, Gloria Colella and Phyllis Ross. Tea servers were Sandy Douthit and Bonnie Anderson.
The Current Events Club will meet for a luncheon March 2 sponsored by the Bradford Hospital Foundation.
On Feb. 7, the Women’s Literary Club has invited Current Events members to be their guests at their meeting at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.
