An Olean, N.Y., woman is facing allegations that she assaulted a man after he posted a photo of the pair of them on Snapchat.
Morgan E. Hart, 21, of 422 4th Ave., Olean, is charged with aggravated assault-attempts to cause serious bodily injury with extreme indifference to the value of human life, a first-degree felony; strangulation, a second-degree felony; two counts of simple assault and one count of recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; and summary harassment.
She was arraigned early Monday morning before District Judge David Engman and committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint, at a Norwich Township home, Hart and a man were lying on a couch together, when the man took a Snapchat photo of them together. Hart became very upset because she did not want it to be publicly known that they were together.
She hit him multiple times with an open and closed fist, then choked him with both hands so he could not breathe, court records stated. The man estimated that she choked him for about 20 seconds, and he nearly lost consciousness. She also allegedly kneed him in the groin.
According to the complaint, Hart also threatened the man with a knife — as most of the assault took place in the kitchen — and he had to take a knife away from her at one point. When he took the knife, she bit his right ear.
The man estimated that Hart struck him about 50 times, court records stated. He was able to separate himself from her and call 911.
Hart is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
