Cameron Co. tops Kane; ECC, Jburg win in AML
KANE — Cameron County returned true to form in a 47-39 non-league win over Kane.
After being held to under 10 points for the first time all season, Caden Beldin scored a game-high 18 points for the Red Raiders (14-3), while Dino Brown added 13 points. Only four Cameron County players scored on the night.
The Red Raiders initially grabbed a 14-5 lead through the first quarter, and then a 22-15 advantage at halftime. Kane (12-7) rallied to trim its deficit to 30-26 after the third quarter, but Cameron County held on for the win.
The Wolves were powered by 11 points apiece from Chad Greville and Mason Zuzek.

Elk Catholic 67, Sheffield 40
SHEFFIELD — Elk County Catholic rebounded from its season’s first loss with a convincing win over Allegheny Mountain League North foe Sheffield.
ECC raced out to a 42-12 lead by halftime.
Regis Wortman scored 16 points for the Crusaders (18-1, 10-0), who remain undefeated in AML play. Ben Hoffman added 10.
Sheffield (5-14, 2-5) was paced by Tyler Hepinger’s game-high 17 points.

Johnsonburg 57, Curwensville 26
CURWENSVILLE — Gabe Watts scored 20 points, Austin Green added 18 and Johnsonburg easily cruised past Curwensville in AML play.
Eric Christoff sank a game-high four 3-pointers for the Rams (12-6, 6-2) in his 12-point night.
Johnsonburg initially raced out to a 17-6 lead through the first quarter and then took a 29-14 lead into halftime. The Rams gradually expanded that advantage as the game wore on.
Curwensville’s (2-15, 0-8) Trevor Lausberry paced the Golden Tide with 10 points.
Johnsonburg has now won six of its last seven games.
