A hearing has been set for Feb. 10 in the case of a Ludlow man accused of threatening his parents with a metal baseball bat.
Michael A. Snyder, 31, of 7 Hillside Ave., Ludlow, is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; harassment and disorderly conduct, third-degree misdemeanors.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Feb. 10 before District Judge Dave Engman in Kane.
According to the criminal complaint, at 11:32 a.m. Dec. 13, Lewis Run-based state police were dispatched to Snyder’s residence for an assault in progress between a father, mother and son.
The father told police that Michael Snyder came home and argued with him.
Snyder “was very irrational and argumentative,” the complaint stated. While Snyder and his father were outside, Snyder allegedly threatened to kill his father with a baseball bat; he was holding the bat as if ready to strike as he said it.
Snyder threw the bat across the yard and went inside, where he “threatened to kill his mother because he was going to kill his father,” court records stated.
Snyder’s mother told police she was asleep in the bedroom when the sound of her husband and son yelling woke her up. According to the complaint, she said Snyder “threatened to kill her if she wasn’t going to side with him in the argument.”
Snyder is free on $30,000 unsecured bail. He is represented by the McKean County Public Defender’s office.
