In preparation for their upcoming 24th season, the Bradford Little Theatre (BLT) will hold pitch meetings from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Togi’s Playhouse, 18 Welch Ave.
Attendees do not have to be there for the entire meeting and it’s not required to be there at the start time.
As BLT is in the early planning stages for the upcoming season, the purpose of the meeting is to obtain input and gain involvement of the community in planning the line-up.
The new season will open in July and run through June 2021, beginning with the fifth annual Children’s Theatre Camp, followed by the third annual shadow cast production of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” In addition to the aforementioned performances, BLT would like to have four additional shows in the season.
Those who have ideas for future shows or have a desire to direct are welcome to attend the meeting. Anyone who is bringing a show for BLT to consider is asked to bring a copy of the script for the board to read.
In general, BLT focuses on comedies, though they are also open to considering a drama, musical, thriller or mystery. Musicals considered thus far include “Pippi Longstocking,” “The Addams Family,” “Disaster! The Musical,” “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and “A Year with Frog and Toad.” In addition, ideas for comedies have included: “Beanstalk,” “Nana’s Naughty Knickers,” “Drinking Habits,” “The Up Down Detective Agency,” “Noises Off” and “Scrooge MacBeth,” while drama/thrillers considered include “1984” and “Deathtrap.”
If any of the aforementioned shows spark your interest or you have other ideas, feel free to attend the meetings or reach out to the Bradford Little Theatre Facebook page.
