Winter weather to blame for Thursday accident
RIDGWAY — Winter weather was to blame for a one-vehicle accident that happened at 5:27 p.m. Thursday on Toby Road in Fox Township.
Ridgway-based state police said a car driven by Renee J. Petruna, 46, of St. Marys, was traveling north on Toby Road near the intersection with Lovers Lane, when it went out of control on the ice and snow covered road. The car traveled across the road and struck the embankment on the southbound side.
No injuries were reported, but the car sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene, police said.
No injuries when truck swerves to miss fox
RIDGWAY — No injuries were reported in a crash that occurred at 2:39 p.m. Thursday when a pick-up truck swerved to miss a fox in the road.
According to Ridgway-based state police, a truck driven by Megan N. Lehman, 21, of Ridgway, swerved to miss a fox, struck an embankment, rolled over and came to rest landing upright in the northbound lane.
Lehman was not injured, but police said she will be cited for failing to drive on roadways laned for traffic.
Car sustains damage when it hit parked car
EMPORIUM — A car sustained disabling damage when it struck a parked construction vehicle at 4:09 p.m. Thursday on East Greenwood Street in Emporium Borough.
According to Emporium-based state police, a car driven by Yvonne M. Baird, 66, of Austin, was heading east, when it struck a large construction vehicle that was legally parked in the travel lane.
No injuries were reported, police said.
Baird’s car sustained disabling damage to the front bumper and front passenger side vehicle and had to be towed from the scene, police reported.
