A Cyclone man is facing criminal charges for allegations he has been accused of stealing from his employer.
Marshall L. Workman, 32, of 201 Pitthole Road, Cyclone, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone on charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, first-degree misdemeanors.
According to court records, the manager at the Uni-Mart at 76 Chestnut St., Bradford, filed a complaint against Workman to Bradford City Police.
Workman had been working as a cashier at the Uni-Mart, when the manager caught Workman on video allegedly voiding transactions. Customers would pay cash for items in the store, and Workman would ring up the items, then void the transaction and pocket the cash, according to the criminal complaint.
Because of the way Workman conducted the thefts, the business lost both the cash and the merchandise, the complaint indicated.
Court records did not state how much money Workman allegedly stole or how much merchandise went out the door. A first-degree misdemeanor theft charge generally indicates a theft of between $200 and $2,000.
Workman was released on $500 unsecured bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Jan. 23.
