It is going to take more than an act of Congress to stop President Donald Trump from doing exactly what he wants to do. He has no respect for the law.
On Jan. 5 at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, in a tweet storm, he threatened that if Iran does anything inappropriate he will strike back with full force. He’s notifying Congress via tweet, even though he says he doesn’t have to.
He continues to abuse the office of the presidency and alienates our allies. His rhetoric about the Iran nuclear deal was all lies. He can’t keep his facts straight. There are no facts to support that Iran was targeting us or any of our embassies. More lies.
We are no better off having Gen. Qasem Soleimani taken out, but most likely worse off.
Sen. Lindsey Graham compares Trump’s Iran speech to Ronald Reagan’s “tear down this wall” address, a great speech that will be recorded in all of history. Sickening.
Two GOP senators, Mike Lee of Utah and Rand Paul of Kentucky, said they expected to have more information about the justification for the attack. As a result they want Congress to vote on a measure that would limit Trump’s ability to wage war on Iran without congressional approval.
Graham says Trump is the first president in 40 years to understand Iran. Really?
Trump will continue patting himself on the back for the wonderful job he is doing. He is once again disturbed by the fact that he was once again overlooked for the Nobel Peace Prize. He’s taking all credit for the state of our economy when it actually started with Barack Obama.
He publicly calls California Rep. Adam Schiff a bastard. That’s real presidential, isn’t it? He’s brash, crude and vulgar.
Dan Rather says Trump followers are cultish, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell at the forefront. It’s all about HIM, not about policy.
This country under Trump is so toxic it may take decades to recover — if in fact we can.
