A Bradford man was jailed after he alleged held a pistol in another man’s face Saturday evening.

Jeremy R. Bowen Jr., 22, of 160 Summer St., Bradford, was arraigned Saturday before District Judge Richard Luther on the following charges: terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.

The criminal complaint states that at 6 p.m. Saturday, Bradford City Police were dispatched for a report of a domestic dispute in the area of 3 Charlotte Ave. Police were notified that one person was reportedly waving a gun.

Officers approached the scene, one from Mechanic Street and another from Kennedy Street, and found one man holding another man — Bowen — down on the ground. The first man told police that the gun was on Bowen’s hip, and an officer took the gun from its holster. The pistol was put in a police car. A clip from the pistol was found on the ground nearby, the complaint stated.

According to the complaint, witnesses told police that Bowen and a female had been having an argument about a phone, and the other man intervened and tried to get Bowen to return the phone. Instead, Bowen allegedly pulled a gun and pointed it in the man’s face, telling the man to take a step back. The man tackled Bowen to hold him until officers arrived.

Bowen was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine, a pipe and a scale, court records stated.

Bowen is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
