A fire in Hamlin Township Friday morning required additional support from various local departments.
Hamlin Township Volunteer Fire Department, Smethport Fire Department and Mount Jewett Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched at 7:30 a.m. Friday for a working structure fire at 13244 Route 6. Reports indicate the department responded with an engine, a tanker and 12 firefighters. A second alarm was called, due to limited staff during daytime hours.
Star Hose Company #1, Kane Fire Department, Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department, Norwich Township Volunteer Fire Department, and Mount Jewett Volunteer Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
Eldred Township Volunteer Fire Department was on standby for Smethport Fire Department and Roulette was on standby for Star Hose Company.
Crews were on scene for more than an hour and a half. Reports indicate there were no injuries, but the house may have been a total loss. No further details were immediately available.
