St. Marys man facing drug possession charges
RIDGWAY — A St. Marys man is facing drug possession charges following a routine traffic stop at 12:38 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Shelvey Summit Road and Spleen Road in Ridgway Township, Elk County.
According to Ridgway-based state police, a car was pulled over after it was observed going 67 mph in a 55 mph zone.
While speaking with the operator, the officer detected a moderate odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and identified the male as Seth Badeau, 22, who was wanted by Ridgway and Erie state police. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, the officer found drugs, drug paraphernalia, a prohibited offensive weapon and suspected counterfeit U.S. currency, police reported.
According to police, Badeau was transported to PSP Ridgway, where a drug and alcohol evaluation was conducted. He later refused a legal blood draw at Penn Highlands Elk.
Charges will be filed.
