PUNXSUTAWNEY — A Ceres Township, McKean County, home was significantly damaged by a house fire at 5:48 p.m. Monday.
Chief Doug Estes of the Shinglehouse Fire Department requested assistance in determining the cause of the fire in the single-story home located on Kings Run Road in Ceres Township.
Upon inspection, the fire, deemed accidental in nature, was determined to have originated in the bedroom of the home due to an issue with an electric space heater.
Although the fire was quickly extinguished by the fire department, it will most likely be a complete loss due to heat, smoke and water damage. The loss is estimated at $40,000.
The police did not identify the owner of the home, though the occupants were listed as Perry Kinney, 53, Nicholas Kinney, 28, and Emily Kinney, 22.
No one was injured in the fire.
