A Bradford man is being held without bail on allegations out of Cattaraugus County, N.Y.
According to an online docket filed Thursday by Bradford City Police, Darryl W. Croker, 35, was arraigned Thursday afternoon before District Judge Dominic Cercone and committed to McKean County Jail.
The docket states that he is being held without bail because Cattaraugus County officials want Croker “as soon as possible.”
The docket did not indicate why Croker is wanted in Cattaraugus County.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office did announce in August that Croker was being charged with second-degree arson and reckless endangerment for a July 27 fire at 142 Wilson St., Salamanca, N.Y., that caused more than $80,000 in damage, but it is unclear if that case is related to why Croker was jailed on Thursday.
Regarding the fire, the Salamanca Press reported on July 31 that the Salamanca Fire Department responded to the fire, with the first apparatus arriving at approximately 3:21 p.m. July 27. The Kill Buck Volunteer Fire Department, Salamanca Police and FAST team from the Bradford (Pa.) City Fire Department assisted on scene.
Firefighters found the fire at the rear of the structure extending from the first floor to the attic, and they quickly contained it, according to the report.
At that time, the fire was still under investigation by the Cattaraugus County Fire Investigators and Salamanca Fire Investigators.
