A Bradford man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly waved a gun at several people in the street after a party in September.
Shane E. Nudd Jr., 21, of 20 Race St., was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Dominic Cercone on four counts of recklessly endangering another person and one count of simple assault, all second-degree misdemeanors; and one count of disorderly conduct, a third-degree misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, at 3:31 a.m. Sept. 22, a neighbor called Bradford City Police to report a disturbance in the street on Bon Air Avenue. Police talked to several witnesses when determining what happened.
The complaint stated that Nudd attended a party that took place Sept. 21 and into the morning of Sept. 22 at 205 Interstate Parkway. While there, Nudd — who “was highly intoxicated and was being weird” — was stacking beer cans into a tower, and another man knocked it over, court records stated. Nudd became “aggressive,” “pushing people and using worrisome words.”
Another man told Nudd to calm down, which Nudd responded to by lunging at the man, grabbing him and pushing him down, the complaint stated. The man put Nudd in a sleeper hold and told him to calm down or leave; Nudd left.
According to the court records, Nudd returned when the people in the home were getting ready to go to sleep and started slamming his body against the door. He allegedly told them he had a gun and said he wanted his hat back.
One witness felt the missing hat story was “just a ploy to get into the house with the gun,” the complaint stated.
One of the home’s occupants was arguing with Nudd, then went outside to fight him. Nudd pulled out a handgun and began to wave it and point it at people, according to the complaint.
One person told police that Nudd was saying, “I don’t want to kill anyone I just want my property back,” court records stated.
Nudd is free on $5,000 unsecured bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
