TOPS #1704
Four members of Take Off Pounds Sensibly #1704 weighed in Monday night losing 4.6 pounds.
Congratulations went out to Lonnie, who was the Best Loser, and Silvana, who was the Best Loser in Waiting as well as the Officer of the Week. Lonnie was the first member to have a full card in the Bingo game. Members voted to continue playing the Bingo game for more full cards and prizes.
This week starts the 2020 Kick-off, a nine-week contest to start the New Year off right. This week’s challenge is to exercise for 20 minutes a day for three days; any member who completes this week’s task earns a sticker. An additional sticker will be rewarded for completing the challenge and coming in with a weight loss.
Members are to avoid hard candy and try green peppers.
Current Events Club
Twenty-three members of the Current Events Club heard a program from Lauren Bartl of the Allegheny National Forest at their meeting Monday at the First Presbyterian Church.
Bartl’s focuses at the ANF include visitor information, customer service, environmental education, and cultural and historic programs. She discussed the goals of ANF representatives, as well as programs and recreational opportunities available in the forest. She provided maps and contact information for the group, too.
Sandy Douthit served as greeter. Tea Committee Chair Joyce Ostrander was assisted by Theresa Bond, Susan Egbert and Marjory Knox. Tea servers were Patty Lindstrom and Chris Yeager.
Jan Roll won the 50/50 drawing.
The group will meet next on Feb. 3.
