JOHNSONBURG — Nolan Shaffer, Cole Casilio, Isaac Zimmerman and Camron Marciniak each pinned their opponents in under 45 seconds to lead Johnsonburg to a dominant 67-12 victory over Coudersport in Allegheny Mountain Wrestling League action Thursday night.
The Rams (8-1) won all 11 of the contested matches in a contest that included just one forfeit. In addition to the decisive victories via pin from Shaffer (:30 seconds, 132 pounds), Casilio (:39, 160) Zimmerman (:44, 170) and Marciniak (:20, 195), the Rams had several matmen battle to earn wins in some classes that went a longer distance.
Dalton Stahli (138 pounds) pinned Coudersport’s Chris Davis in 2:55 and teammate Kaden Dennis took down the Falcons’ Dylan Kelly in 3:36.
Additionally, Jburg’s Collin Porter major decisioned Wyatt Daisley, 11-2, at 113 pounds and Cole Norland (126) pinned his opponent in 57 seconds.
“The entire team went out and did their jobs,” Johnsonburg coach Mike Votano said. “Really couldn’t ask for much more from them and they wrestled tough after Christmas break. You always want to see how they respond after a few weeks off. Everyone took care of their responsibilities.”
Coudersport’s lone victories came via forfeits in 220 and heavyweight, respectively.
Johnsonburg returns to the mat for the Philipsburg-Osceola Tournament this weekend while the Falcons will host the Coudersport Duals on Saturday.
