The area is expected to get a reprieve from snow showers and frigid weather for the next five to 10 days, according to David Martin, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
“People can expect a break from the kind of conditions we’ve had for the past few weeks,” said Martin. “It will be a nice break from the few weeks of stormy weather.”
Those dreaming of a white Christmas may be disappointed, as Martin reported little chance of rain or snow prior to Christmas, with warmer temperatures than previous weeks. On a positive note, the weather forecast looks great for holiday travel.
“There are no major storms through the end of the year unless something changes,” Martin explained. “Maybe a few snow flurries Thursday morning of next week, but nothing major.”
Martin compared the colder than average temperatures from this November to November 2014, explaining there is typically a period of warmer weather in December after a colder-than-average November.
