A Mount Jewett man who faces numerous drug charges after a traffic stop in November waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Richard Luther.
Chad A. Ginkel, 38, is charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; three counts of possession of a controlled substance and 52 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors; and the following summary charges: failure to carry registration, operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility, turning movements and required signals and operating a vehicle without a valid inspection.
According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 20, Lewis Run-based state police pulled Ginkel over for a traffic violation, and, after one trooper spotted a baggie of meth in his jacket pocket, the troopers, along with a Bradford City Police officer, searched his vehicle.
Law enforcement officials found the following during their search of the vehicle: a large bag of suspected meth, three fentanyl packs in a cigarette pack and a camera bag containing various baggies and containers, knives, a shipping bag, a bag containing drug residue, rolling papers, a scale, a container of marijuana was and a bag with marijuana residue. A search of his person generated $1,195 and a bag of cocaine, court records stated.
Also waiving a preliminary hearing was Kristen A. Moore, 36, of Bradford, who was scheduled for a hearing Wednesday before Luther. Moore is charged with criminal attempt-theft by unlawful taking, a third-degree felony; three counts of loitering and prowling at night time and two counts of disorderly conduct, third-degree misdemeanors, and one summary charge of public drunkenness. The charges stem from allegations on Nov. 30 in Bradford Township. Moore’s bail was changed to unsecured after a bail hearing on Wednesday.
Rachel A. Munson, 34, of Springville, N.Y., pleaded guilty Wednesday before Luther to a summary harassment charge for a domestic dispute in November. Charges of aggravated assault and simple assault were withdrawn.
Ryan J. Nelson, 25, of Goffstown, N.H., had charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property against him withdrawn. Nelson was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone for allegations that he took a cell phone.
