MARIENVILLE — The USDA Forest Service is accepting comments for South Branch Kinzua Creek project on the Marienville Ranger District of the Allegheny National Forest.
The Forest Service is proposing adding shelterwood removal cuts and associated reforestation treatments to 11 stands that were approved for a shelterwood seed cut and associated reforestation treatments in the original South Branch Kinzua Creek decision.
The proposed shelterwood removals and associated reforestation treatments would complete the shelterwood sequence for these stands started in the South Branch Kinzua Creek decision and result in an additional 189 acres of early structural habitat within the South Branch Kinzua Creek project area.
Comments for these projects will be most helpful by Jan. 21. Any written, facsimile, hand-delivered, oral, and electronic comments will be considered.
Comments received after January 21 will be considered to the extent that time allows. Additionally, comments received, including names and addresses of those who submitted comments, will be considered part of the public record and will be available for public inspection.
