A homeless man from Bradford is in McKean County Jail for charges including running from police, resisting arrest even after being tased twice and possessing methamphetamine.
Theodore W. Bryan, 20, is charged with flight to avoid apprehension and resisting arrest, second-degree misdemeanors; possession of meth and of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.
According to the criminal complaint, at 3:53 p.m. Dec. 10, Bradford City Police saw Bryan, knew there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest and attempted to stop him. He began fleeing and an officer tackled him. Bryan continued to fight and resist the officers, and would not remove his hands from under himself. An officer deployed his taser two times to get Bryan to cooperate.
When he was finally in custody, officers found he had two knives within his reach while struggling with them, had syringes in his sock and other paraphernalia, including bags with the words “stay high” printed on them, along with a picture of a cannonball, the complaint read. Another bag in his possession contained meth, police allege.
Bryan was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court Jan. 2.
