A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail after he allegedly broke into someone else’s home after he had been physically removed from it for causing damage.
Jordan J. Evan, 33, of 77 Gilbert Lane, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone on charges of burglary, a first-degree felony; and criminal mischief, a second-degree misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 1, the tenant of an East Washington Street apartment, along with Evan and his girlfriend, went to the apartment after the bars closed. While there, Evan became upset and allegedly began smashing things inside the home.
The tenant went to get help from a neighbor, and the pair physically removed Evan and locked him out. Evan kicked in the door — causing damage to the door, door jamb and lock assembly — then entered the apartment to try to fight the tenant, the complaint stated. The tenant and neighbor again removed Evan from the apartment and into the street.
In addition to damage caused when he kicked in the door, the criminal complaint indicates there was damage to kitchen cupboards, the kitchen table and a flat screen television. There were several holes in the walls, too.
Damages to the apartment itself were $847, and damages to the tenant’s things were $305, for a total of $1,152, according to court records.
Evan is in jail in lieu of $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Jan. 2.
