Top Christmas Candy by State: Candystore.com has released an interactive map, which can be viewed at https://www.candystore.com/blog/holidays/christmas-candy-popular-states/. This map shows the top Christmas candy for each state in a visual overlay and also provides the top two runners-up when you hover over the state of choice with your mouse.
If you are wondering what the favorite candy is in Pennsylvania, the answer is Reese Cup minis. Pa.’s two runners up were candy canes and reindeer corn. Meanwhile, for New York state, the top candy is Snickers, followed by candy canes and Reese Cup minis.
In other news, Alaska’s vote went for Hershey Kisses, New Mexico chose Pez and Peppermint Bark came in first for Nevada, Wisconsin, Iowa and Kansas.
What is reindeer corn?
Well, for some Pennsylvanians it is apparently a holiday must, as it ranks third in the top three candies for Christmas. Not only is reindeer corn in the top 3 in no less than 19 states, it is actually ranked No. 1 in eight states this year: Michigan, Virginia, Georgia, Connecticut, Delaware, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Alabama.
Other winning candy choices were candy canes (Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, Oklahoma, Colorado); M&Ms (Idaho); Reese Pieces (Montana) and Starburst (Arkansas).
Meanwhile, the WORST Christmas Candy is also ranked, from 10 to No. 1: 10 — ribbon candy; 9 — non-peppermint candy canes; 8 — old-fashioned hard candy mix;
7 — Peppermint Bark; 6 — white peppermint M&Ms; 5 — Lifesavers storybooks; 4 — Peeps; 3 — reindeer corn; 2 — cherry cordials and 1- Christmas nougat candy.
