The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will hold an information session on Wednesday about the University of Pittsburgh Master of Social Work degree offered on the Bradford campus.

The session, which will take place at 6 p.m. in Room 162 of Swarts Hall on the Pitt-Bradford campus, will feature Phillip Mack, director of admissions for the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. Stephanie Eckstrom, coordinator of the MSW program in Bradford, will also be on hand.

Topics to be addressed include the admissions process, program structure, curriculum, financial aid and more. For the cohort forming to begin in the fall 2020 semester, Pitt is offering a 15 percent tuition discount for students currently working full-time in human services.

Applications are now being accepted for Pitt-Bradford’s new cohort. Prospective students can expect to complete the degree requirements by December 2023.

The MSW program at Pitt-Bradford is a part-time program offered by the Pitt School of Social Work in cooperation with the Bradford campus. It is taught by full-time and part-time School of Social Work faculty members, some of whom are members of the local social work community. The program continues to offer in-state tuition rates to students from neighboring counties in New York State.

The program, which admitted its first class of MSW students in fall 2002, offers a concentration in direct practice with individuals, families and small groups, with a specialization in children, youth and families.

Its eighth cohort will graduate this December. Students completing the MSW degree are eligible to take the examination to become a licensed social worker.
