Readers may already know that Donald Trump Jr.’s book is out — “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us.” Really? Who is more hateful than Donald Trump with his degrading and shameful tweets?
On a major news network, a portion of the book was read to listeners. While his father was laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Trump Jr. was walking through Arlington National Cemetery. He says he rarely gets emotional but thought of all the attacks the family has already suffered and all the sacrifices they will have to make to help his father succeed. They voluntarily gave up a huge chunk of the family business and all international deals to avoid the appearance that they were profiting off the office, Trump Jr. wrote. Walking among all the white crosses of our fallen at Arlington, and he was thinking about himself. They have suffered enough, he wrote, and this is only the beginning.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited the Trumps to go to Russia’s military parade in 2020 and President Trump wants to attend if it doesn’t conflict with his re-election campaign. Of course, he and Putin are buddies. They didn’t interfere with the 2016 election because Putin told him so. The Republican Party is backing Trump no matter what? Is this what their party has become?
I’m sick of hearing about quid pro quo. Call if for what it is: exhortation, corruption and lies. Mick Mulvaney, chief of staff, says it happens all the time, “get over it.” And Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal attorney, why is he involved in foreign policy?
I applaud Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and Fiona Hill and many others who have presented a damning case against all the corruption by this president. He has brought nothing but shame to our country and to the office of the president of the United States.
