Delta Kappa Gamma
The Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma held Saturday’s meeting in Port Allegany. President Rebecca Hilzinger called the meeting to order followed by the collect and an inspirational thought for the day.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.
The minutes of the October meeting and the treasurer’s report were read and accepted by the membership. The membership chair reminded members to nominate people for membership.
The group discussed the May 12 Founder’s Day activity. The proposal under consideration is reading a book to a class of children followed by a related activity. More information will be available at the March meeting.
After the meeting was adjourned, the society enjoyed the silent auction organized by Diane Smith. As the auction winners were announced the women played Christmas Movie Trivia. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship.
The dates for the 2020 state convention in State College are June 12-14. The international convention will be July 7-11 In Philadelphia.
The Hostess Committee — Diane Smith and Port Allegany members — was thanked for arranging the brunch and organizing the silent auction.
The next meeting will be held at 5:45 p.m. March 10 in Eldred.
