The IU9 Fall Reading Competition was held Thursday at Floyd C. Fretz Middle School in Bradford. Teams of kids read from a list of books and answer questions about those books in three different rounds.
There were teams from Coudersport, Fillmore, Kane, Northern Potter, Oswayo Valley, Port Allegany, Ridgway, Smethport, Randolph, St. Marys and Bradford.
The winning teams at the High School level were:
First Place: Coudersport, 42 points
Second Place: Port Allegany, 39 points
Third Place: Oswayo Valley, 25.5 points.
The winners at the Middle School level were:
First Place: Oswayo Valley, 38 points
Second Place tie: Port Allegany and Kane, each with 34.5 points
Third Place: Randolph, 34 points.
At the Elementary level, results were:
First Place: Northern Potter NOPO Know-It-Alls Team A with 52 points,
Second Place: Northern Potter NOPO Know-It-Alls Team B with 51 points
Third Place: Smethport Magical Readers with 50 points.
