COUDERSPORT — The 6th Annual Angel Tree will be placed at Perry’s Country Store in Austin beginning Sunday.
The Angel Tree Program attempts to bring sunshine into the lives of less fortunate children at Christmas time by providing them with new toys and clothing. Angels will be placed on the tree; each of them having a number, age and gender of an Austin area child in need of presents. A list of gift ideas for each child will be listed on the back of the angel. Contributors remove one or more tags from the tree and purchase appropriate gifts for the child. Contributors are asked to purchase new items (no used gifts please), wrap the gifts, tape the angel to the front of the package and place it under the tree. Gifts will be picked up daily. Cutoff date for all wrapped gifts is Thursday, Dec. 19 by noon.
For more information on the Angel Tree Program, contact Jackie Dynda at 814-647-8784. A list of instructions will also be available at the store. The Angel Tree Program provides an excellent opportunity for those who want to make a difference in the lives of a child during the holiday season. Last year’s program was a great success and put smiles on the faces of several girls and boys ages 2-14. This year there are 32 children in need of love and support.
