United Way of the Bradford Area campaign chair Christy Graham announced the campaigns’ progress in area communities on Thursday.
Graham said she is thrilled to be at 50% in Bradford, 40% in Smethport and nearing 30% in Port Allegany.
“I am so thankful for all the support from the community,” she said. “We are very lucky to live in a community that is so supportive. If you have not made your pledge, there is still time. Please reach out to the United Way office to make arrangements.”
Executive Director Paige LaBrozzi said, “The theme for the United Way campaign is Invest In Your Community and that is what we see happening. Our community members see the important void the United Way fills for many 501 C 3 non-profit organizations in the Bradford, Smethport and Port Allegany communities. It is important for anyone investing into the United Way to know that your gift is impacting your family, friends and neighbors, even if you don’t know it. The United Way of the Bradford Area has a wide reach in the community as we aid in financial stability, health and education for those who live in our area.”
UWBA board President Karen Costello-Pecht said, “The thermometers are on the rise in the Bradford, Smethport and Port Allegany communities and the UWBA Board of Directors are extremely grateful for those of you who have already made your pledge to our 2019-2020 campaign.”
She added that Investing in Your Community means investing in the needs of others.
“We still have a distance to go to attain our goals, so if you have not made your pledge yet, we encourage you to make your contribution soon!” she said.
The local United Way will continue solicitation efforts through Dec. 15, and will then use the time until Jan. 5 to make follow-ups and conclude the campaign.
