Bradford Area Public Library new books: This time of year is perfect for curling up with a warm blanket, a cup of coffee and a new book. Bradford Library has some new additions to the shelves to help with this activity.
All This Could Be Yours, by Jami Attenberg, tells the story of Alex Tuchman, whose father is on his deathbed. Alex is determined to find out more about her father by visiting the family and asking questions of her less than forthcoming mother. According to Entertainment Weekly,
“It wouldn’t be a Jami Attenberg novel without a difficult family at its center. The New Orleans-set All This Could Be Yours spins secrets and resentments in its portrait of a strong-willed lawyer who returns home to contend with the legacy of her abusive, dying father.”
Meant to Be Yours, by Susan Mallery, is about wedding coordinator Renee Grothen, who isn’t meant for marriage. But she never could have planned on gorgeous, talented thriller writer Jasper Dembenski proposing—a fling, that is.
Twentieth Anniversary, by America’s Test Kitchen, features the very best recipes from the America’s Test Kitchen TV show in celebration of its 20th anniversary and its renowned celebrity cast.
The Queens of Animation, by Nathalia Holt, discusses Walt Disney Studios greats, from Snow White to Moana, from Pinocchio to Frozen, and the incredibly influential group of women who fought for respect in an often ruthless male-dominated industry and have slipped under the radar for decades.
Finally a staff recommendation from Library Director Lacey Love herself:
The Ten Thousand Doors of January, by Alix E. Harrow, which tells the story of January Scaller, the ward of a wealthy man. She lives in a mansion filled with peculiar treasures, including a book that tells a tale of secret doors, love and danger.
Love says, “I finished this book in one weekend, and couldn’t put it down. I finally figured out how each of the stories were going to connect about 75% of the way through, and I loved the beautiful and heartfelt ending.”
