Preliminary hearing scheduled includes two child assault case
Two men accused of sexually assaulting children were among the people who had preliminary hearings Monday in McKean County.
A sexual assault case against Kevin S. Brown, 56, of 4 Boyd St., Mount Jewett, had charges against him bound to McKean County Court after a hearing before District Judge David Engman, court records indicate. According to the criminal complaint, Brown had sexual contact on multiple occasions with a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old. Brown is charged with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with forcible compulsion, IDSI-person less than 16 years of age and IDSI with a child, first-degree felonies; sexual assault, a second-degree felony; two counts of corruption of minors, third-degree felonies; two counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and one count of indecent assault with forcible compulsion, first-degree misdemeanors; and two counts each of indecent assault without consent and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old, second-degree misdemeanors. He is being held in McKean County Jail without bail.
Similarly, Frank P. Deblaso, 37, of 12255 Route 46, Smethport, had charges against him bound to court at a hearing before District Judge William Todd, according to court records. Deblaso touched a 5-year-old girl inappropriately, the criminal complaint indicates. Deblaso is charged with aggravated indecent assault of a child, a first-degree felony; aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault of someone less than 13 years old and aggravated indecent assault of someone less than 16, second-degree felonies; corruption of minors, a third-degree felony; and two counts each of indecent assault without consent and indecent assault of a person less than 16, second-degree misdemeanors. Deblaso is in jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Joseph W. Lorenzo, 63, of Kane, waived a preliminary hearing that was scheduled to be heard before Engman, court records stated. Lorenzo is charged with stalking, a first-degree misdemeanor; theft by unlawful taking and theft from a motor vehicle, third-degree misdemeanors; and summary harassment. He is free on $2,500 unsecured bail.
Samuel Dubaich, 35, of Ludlow, had criminal charges against him withdrawn and the case moved to a non-traffic summary case, court records indicate. Dubaich, who was scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Engman, had the following charges against him withdrawn: strangulation, aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct. Dubaich pleaded guilty to summary harassment.
