Women’s Literary Club
The Women’s Literary Club met Friday at the Bradford Area Public Library for its Philanthropy Day Luncheon. President Patti Neidich presided over the business meeting.
Janet Glover introduced speaker Jeanette Smith, director of Camp JJ and also president of the board of directors. Camp JJ is a non-profit, completely volunteer and donation based organization. It offers a summer camping experience to children with special needs.
Members of Literary Club made a donation to Camp JJ to help support this program.
The board of directors of the Literary Club provided a festive luncheon, complete with autumn decorations.
During the luncheon, Marie Trosokosky, director of the Teen Book Club at the Bradford Area Public Library, offered members a copy of Maria Semple’s best seller, “Where’d You Go Bernadette.” Original book markers, made by home schooled children of the Bradford Area, were passed out to club members. The children were at the Bradford Area Public Library under the direction of Rebecca Austin.
The club will hear a program called “Honeybees” from speaker Kermit Sherwood during the Nov. 15 meeting, to be held at the Bradford Area Public Library.
