SMETHPORT — A Smethport man is in McKean County Jail, accused of indecent assault of a 5-year-old girl.
Frank Paul Deblaso, 37, 12255 Route 46, is charged with aggravated indecent assault, a first-degree felony; three counts of aggravated indecent assault, a second-degree felony; two counts of indecent assault, third-degree felonies; and four counts of indecent assault, second-degree misdemeanors.
According to the criminal complaint in the case, on Sept. 30, state police were notified of an alleged indecent assault committed by Deblaso on a child. The alleged victim was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center of McKean County, and told authorities that Deblaso had touched her inappropriately, the complaint alleged.
When police interviewed Deblaso, he said he and the child were wrestling when the child was naked, the complaint stated.
He was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to jail in lieu of $100,000. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Halloween.
