The real-life, friendly vampires, the Community Blood Bank, is hosting an upcoming blood drive at St. Bernards Catholic Church ahead of the Halloween holiday.
The drive will be held from noon to 5:30 p.m. Monday at St. Bernards Catholic Church, 95 E. Corydon St. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are available.
“The Community Blood Bank is in need of all blood types right now,” said Jaclyn Seymour, community relations specialist for the Community Blood Bank. “However, there is a critical need for Type O blood donors. Thirty-seven percent of the entire population is eligible to donate blood. Five years ago, 5 percent of that population donated. Now, less than 2 percent of the population donates blood. That is not sustainable to rely on only 2 percent of the entire population to fill the need.”
With every donation, all donors earn points. Those points can be cashed in for Community Blood Bank merchandise and gift cards on our online Point Store. The Point Store is accessible through your donor portal on our website fourhearts.org.
