A Bradford who allegedly choked his girlfriend Wednesday is in McKean County Jail on $35,000 bail.
Coty Jordan Redeye, 34, of 13 Blaisdell Ave., is charged with strangulation, a second-degree felony; and two counts of simple assault, second-degree misdemeanors.
According to the criminal complaint in the case, on Wednesday, police were called to Redeye’s home for a reported domestic disturbance. The caller told the emergency dispatcher that Redeye had left the home and was possibly on East Main Street. He was located by Foster Township Police while city police spoke to the victim, the complaint stated.
The victim told police that she and Redeye hadn’t been getting along during the day, and at about 7:15 p.m., they began to argue. She said he had pushed her over, and then picked her up by the throat and threw her into the child’s playroom. He then continued to choke her for several minutes, the complaint alleged.
The victim went to Bradford Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. Redeye was transported to Bradford City Police station, where he declined to be interviewed. He was arraigned before District Judge Rich Luther and remanded to jail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Halloween.
