SALAMANCA, N.Y. — With Halloween and Fat bike season right around the corner, the Environmental Education and Recreation Department of Allegany State Park wanted to put a twist on the traditional Halloween party, so they created a family fun event giving kids of all ages the opportunity to dress up their bikes or wear a bike safe costume.
The event is Oct. 26, with registration beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Beehunter picnic shelter. Everyone is encouraged to participate in a low-key bike ride around Red House Lake (3 miles), starting at 6 p.m., with a shorter route available for the littlest riders and a picnic starting at 7:30 p.m.
Grab your family and friends, a fun and creative costume (there will be prizes), your favorite bike and don’t forget your helmet.
Registration is not required. For more information, visit the Allegany State Park Facebook or contact the Environmental/Recreation Department at 716-354-9101, ext. 232 or AlleganySP@parks.ny.gov.
