An 18-year-old man is facing criminal charges after an alleged robbery at Crosby’s convenience store in Foster Brook.
Cornel V. Styles, 18, is charged with robbery, simple assault, retail theft and criminal trespassing, said Lt. Mike Thomas of the Foster Township Police Department. Styles was arraigned and committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Foster Township police were called to the alleged robbery just before 3 p.m. Sunday at the convenience store, located on the corner of East Main Street and Derrick Road.
“It was a strong armed robbery, where (Styles) had pushed his way through employees at the Crosby and gained access to the tobacco area and took some tobacco products,” Thomas explained.
During this, Styles grabbed the wrist of one of the clerks and overpowered her, Thomas said. The clerk was not injured, he noted.
Styles fled the scene and was arrested a short time later in the Sheetz parking lot by Thomas and officers with the City of Bradford Police.
The online case docket indicates that Styles was arraigned before District Judge Richard Luther. Styles is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
