MOUNT ALTON (EC) — There is no better time to see the Allegheny National Forest than the fall.
The Bradford Regional Airport will host its first Fall Fly In from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday.
Beginning between 9:30 and 10 a.m., the Elk Flyers will offer rides in their Piper Archer that can accommodate up to three passengers.
“The last time we were able to offer rides to the public was a big success,” said airport manager Alicia Dankesreiter.
In addition, Southern Airways Express, the low-fare commuter airline that provides daily flights to Pittsburgh, is bringing one of their Cessna Caravans for the public to view.
Several food vendors will be on site offering sausage subs, cheesecakes, fries, meatball subs and much more. The Olean Coffee Company plans to debut their new mobile barista truck, while The Salvation Army will have a variety of apple cider drinks.
“We had planned for a variety of food trucks, but that didn’t pan out,” Dankesreiter told The Era. “However, I’m confident everyone will find something delicious.
“So far, Saturday’s forecast looks perfect for spending the day watching the planes coming in and maybe even for a ride over the Kinzua Bridge.”
