A Kane couple has been arraigned and released on charges allegedly they interfered with the custody of a child.
Faith A. Marvin, 22, of 102 Hacker St., and Kenneth T. Goodman, 33, of 329 Chase St., were both charged with concealment of the whereabouts of a child and interference with custody of a child, third-degree felonies.
According to court records, Robert McMahon had sole physical custody of his daughter, age 2. Her biological mother, Marvin, removed the girl from McMahon’s residence on June 1, and he had not been able to reach her or see his daughter since then. He told police he had heard that Marvin was dating Goodman, and reached out to him on Facebook. Goodman allegedly told him that he couldn’t see his daughter or Marvin, and to leave them both alone, court records stated.
McMahon told police that the pair were actively avoiding returning to Kane, and that he had seen a photo they posted on Facebook where they were traveling in Tennessee. He told police he believed they were traveling and living out of hotels, court records allege.
Warrants for their arrests were issued Sept. 24. Marvin was arraigned Friday before District Judge Bill Todd and released in lieu of $5,000 bail. Goodman was arraigned Monday before District Judge David Engman and released in lieu of $5,000 bail.
The child was returned to her father, according to Lewis Run-based state police.
Both Marvin and Goodman are scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
