T.O.P.S. #1704
Members of Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter PA #1704 met from 5 to 5:15 p.m. Sept. 23 in Room 206 of the Hooker Fulton Building in Bradford. This special time was agreed upon by all members for the purpose of weighing in.
The meeting was called to order by Silvana R., the chapter leader, with the recitation of the T.O.P.S. Pledge.
Roll call followed, with eight members weighing in, reporting a 3.2-pound loss.
The food item to avoid this week is french fries.
The group then reconvened at Byllye Lanes bowling alley to celebrate completing the Gumball Machine contest, led by Denise R., and for exceeding the required goals set.
Next week’s meeting will resume at its normal time of 6:45-7:30 p.m., and guests are welcome.
TOPS #16
The weekly meeting of Take Off Pounds Sensibly #16 was held Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church at 54 E.Corydon St., Bradford.
The meeting was called to order by President Vickie Johnson with the Tops and Kops Pledge.
The song was “When We Get Together.”
Weight Recorder Carole VanSickle and Assistant Weight Recorder Barb Smead weighed in 26 members with a loss of 26.6 pounds. Four members were excused, and four members kept the Food Chart.
Best Loser is Kelly Eck, Best Loser in Waiting is Jamie Larson and Officer is Sue Della Valle.
DellaValle read the secretary’s report.
Chris McCracken shared the household tip; Dee Rhodes, the inspiration; Elaine Harris, the healthy foods; and Jeannie Miller, the joke.
The Nickelodeon is donuts. The food to avoid is chips. The fruit is apples and the vegetable is broccoli.
The Food Chart was given to VanSickle.
The group discussed the Fall Rally that was held Sept. 21. There were Ten Tops Club and 65 members attending. It was hosted by Bradford clubs #16 and #1704, Area Captain Silvana Reed and Area Coordinator Cathy Bartel.
Awards were given for perfect attendance, weight loss, six weeks with no gains and KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly), and two members were honored for being in goal, Elaine Harris for five years and Kelly Eck for three years.
Members won the basket, centerpiece, door prizes and drawing. The luncheon was catered by Top Of The Line.
The 2020 rally will be hosted by the Coudersport TOPS Club.
The meeting was adjourned with the Friendship Circle and the TOPS Prayer.
