Three Bradford residents are in McKean County Jail following an alleged methamphetamine delivery Saturday in Bradford City.
Jordan Johnson, 18, William T. Doran, 38, and Christine Cutlip, 32, were arrested by detectives with the McKean County Drug Task Force, District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer announced on Sunday.
“Detectives with the Drug Task Force, acting on a tip, began an investigation into illegal trafficking of Methamphetamine and set up surveillance within the City,” said Shaffer in a press release.
She explained that Cutlip arraigned a sale of meth via text message and conspired with Johnson and Doran to deliver .9 grams of the drug in exchange for $40. Johnson allegedly delivered the meth to another party, received $40, then handed the money to Doran.
“Detectives and Officers with the City of Bradford Police were in nearby surveillance and proceeded to take Johnson and Doran into custody,” said Shaffer. “The complaint alleges Johnson was found with an additional bag of suspected methamphetamine with a weight of between 20-30 grams.”
Johnson is charged with delivery of about .9 grams of meth, possession with the intent to deliver between 20 and 30 grams of meth and two counts of conspiracy-delivery/possession with intent to deliver, all felonies; criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony; possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia, misdemeanors.
Cutlip is charged with criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony, and conspiracy-delivery of a controlled substance, a felony; while Doran is charged with conspiracy-delivery/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony, and conspiracy-possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
They were arraigned before District Judge Dominic Cercone and committed to jail.
Bail is set at $50,000 for Johnson and Doran, while Cutlip was denied bail. Cutlip was incarcerated without bail due to her being a “constant problem,” the online court docket for her case states.
All three have McKean County Central Court appearances set for Thursday morning.
“These arrests were the result of a tip into the distribution of Methamphetamine,” Shaffer noted.
According to the district attorney, meth poses additional risks to the community than other drugs.
“Methamphetamine is a dangerous drug — dangerous not only to the user but to those close to the manufacturing location, as it is highly explosive and unstable during the manufacturing process,” she explained.
