EMPORIUM — Elk County Catholic put up a dominating 325-yard rushing performance and held Cameron County to negative passing yards in a 41-0 thrashing in a District 9 Small School crossover matchup.
The Crusaders were led by Sam Kaul with 193 yards on the ground with 21 attempts while Leo Gregory finished with 42 yards rushing. Raivis Bobby and John Wittman had 38 and 35 yards rushing, respectively.
Elk County Catholic quarterback Mason McAllister led things off in the first quarter with a 41-yard pass to Gregory. The Crusaders pushed their lead to eight with a 2-point conversion on a pass from Wittman to Gregory.
The rest of the scoring in the game would come by the ground game. Sam Kaul punched in the first rushing touchdown in the first quarter off a 30-yard rush. Later in the quarter, McAllister had a three-yard scamper and Bobby scored from the one-yard line to give Elk Co. Catholic a 28-0 lead at the end of the first.
The Crusaders continued to give the ball to Kaul on the ground and it paid off. Kaul tallied his second and third touchdowns of the game on a 14-yard and 33-yard rush in the second quarter.
McAllister finished with 159 yards through the air on five completions. Gregory paced the Crusaders in the air with 87 receiving yards, while Ryan Schatz caught one pass for 32 yards.
Cameron County was led by Eyan Smith with 63 of the team’s 137 rushing yards. Dylan Baney added 36 and Dylan Reider finished with 23 yards. Ebon Jackson had 10 yards on the ground and one completion.

CURWENSVILLE — Coudersport rolled to its third straight victory by at least 44 points with another dominant performance on both sides of the ball.
Hayden Keck rushed for 90 yards and two scores and threw a 46-yard touchdown as part of Coudersport’s 416 total yards of offense.
Defensively, the Falcons (5-0) limited Curwensville to just one first down and 16 yards. The Golden Tide (1-4) had 17 rush attempts for zero yards.

RENOVO — Otto-Eldred raced out to an initial 12-0 lead, but failed to sustain the momentum, as Bucktail posted 22 unanswered points to defeat the Terrors 22-12 in non-league play.
The loss sinks O-E to 1-5 on the season, and marks the Terrors’ third consecutive defeat since topping Cameron County 38-0 in Week 1.
Coach Troy Cook did not provide any additional information to the Era.
District 9 Large School
Ridgway 61, Punxsutawney 6
PUNXSUTAWNEY — Ridgway never trailed en route to a resounding District 9 Large School Division win at Punxsutawney.
The Elkers (5-1, 5-1) have now won four straight since falling to Kane in Week 1, 25-21, and have given up just 20 points through those four games. They host undefeated Clarion next week in a pivotal Large School Division matchup.
Punxsy (0-6, 0-6) will look to regroup at Bradford next week, who is also still in search of the season’s first win.
Karns City 55, St. Marys 20
ST. MARYS — St. Marys grabbed an initial 6-0 advantage before Karns City took over to win the game in District 9 Large School play.
The Gremlins (4-2, 4-2) posted 19 unanswered points to end the first half, and took a 19-6 advantage into the break.
From there, KC extended its advantage to 34-6 before the Flying Dutchmen (3-3, 3-3) rallied on offense for a couple fourth quarter scores.
However, Karns City added on 21 fourth quarter points of its own to top St. Marys 55-20.
The loss is the second straight for the Dutch, who began the season 3-1.
Karns City visits Kane next week, while St. Marys visits Brookville, where Dutch head coach Chris Dworek used to be the man in charge.
