A Bradford woman accused of punching and spitting on a corrections officer at McKean County Jail has had her stay at that facility extended.
Amie Alcock, 37, of High Street, is charged with assault by a prisoner and two counts of aggravated assault, all second-degree felonies; two counts of aggravated harassment by prisoner, third-degree felonies; four counts of simple assault, second-degree misdemeanors; and two counts of harassment, summary offenses.
According to court records, on Sept. 24 — her birthday — Alcock was directed by a corrections officer to move out of the cell she was in, and she became argumentative. She struck the officer in the head with a closed fist. She was restrained and taken to the visitation room, where she spit in the face and eye of another officer, court documents read.
The criminal complaint said officers had to place her in a restraint chair with a “spit sock” on, which is a hood that prevents an inmate from spitting on other people.
Alcock was arraigned Friday before District Judge Bill Todd and returned to jail in lieu of $30,000 bail. She had been incarcerated on a prior theft-related charge at the time of the incident.
She is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
