Alleged threats to “kill and butcher” the medical staff at Bradford Regional Medical Center have landed an Auburn, N.Y., man in McKean County Jail.
Joshua Gehring, 28, of 2 Standart Ave., is charged with four counts of terroristic threats, first-degree misdemeanors, for an alleged incident late Thursday and early Friday.
According to the criminal complaint, on Thursday, Gehring went to the MICA Unit at the hospital for treatment for addiction issues. Since the time of his arrival and through early Friday, Gehring became increasingly more aggressive and repeatedly threatened to “kill and butcher” a doctor, nurse practitioner, case manager and psychologist who were trying to treat him, court records allege.
He refused to calm down and would “take aggressive postures and stances” with medical staff, continuing to make threats to the staff, the records allege.
Gehring was arrested and arraigned before District Judge Rich Luther. He was remanded to jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
