RIDGWAY — A one-vehicle accident in Elk County Wednesday resulted in two fatalities.
According to Ridgway-based state police, a full size pick-up truck driven by Luther Wolff, 69, of St. Marys, was traveling north on Route 255 at 2:18 p.m. in Jay Township near Micale Road when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the gravel parking lot of Rose’s Hilltop Diner and then re-entered the roadway.
The vehicle struck an embankment on the right side of the roadway and rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its roof, police say.
According to reports, both Wolff and his passenger, Stephen Wolff, 53, of St. Marys, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Assisting at the scene were Jay and Fox townships’ fire departments, Bennetts Valley and St. Marys EMS and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
