KANE — Friends’ Memorial Public Library in Kane has activities planned for October, with more offerings to follow as interests are discovered.
Computer classes will be at 5:30 p.m. on Oct., 1, 3, and 15; registration is required for these sessions.
Family history sessions led by Sue Shick will help participants research family trees and their history at 6 p.m. Oct. 9 and 24.
In addition, Keystoned Cafe and Natural Shoppe with Erin and Chris will share information about essential oils at 6 p.m. October 10.
The library board meeting at 6 p.m. October 17 is open to the public.
The Cookbook Club resumes meetings at 6 p.m. on October 16. Bring a dish to share, a recipe to discuss or just come to see what’s happening in the culinary world. New participants are welcome, and there is no cost and no requirements.
The ever popular used book sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 25 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 26. A wide variety of books will be available for sale and the prices are reasonable. It’s a good time to search for new interests or find beloved titles to own.
The library is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Books, magazines and videos can be borrowed for two weeks. The library provides free Wi-Fin newspapers are available for reading and computers are accessible for research.
